Paywall labels, gift links, live banners and share buttons

Free to read and Subscribers labels

   Step 1: Open Publishing tools.

   Step 2: Under Free to read and Subscribers labels, turn the switch on.

   Step 3: Open Grid. On each story tile, pick Free to read, Subscribers or No label.

4. 4

   Step 4: Or let a feed do it. In Feeds, use Free or for subscribers on each connected feed.

Gift links

   Step 1: On a story marked Subscribers, paste your gift link into the box below the label. It must start with https://.

2. 2

   Step 2: Anyone who taps the story reads it free, and so does anyone they send it to.

Live banners

1. 1

   Step 1: When a feed brings in a live blog, a red Live banner goes across the top of your page on its own.

2. 2

   Step 2: It comes down three hours after the live blog stops updating, or two days after it arrived, whichever comes first.

3. 3

   Step 3: On a live blog tile in the Grid, click Mark as live to put the banner up yourself, or set when it Starts. Click End to take it down early.

Share buttons

   Step 1: In Publishing tools, find Send to a friend and turn the switch on.

2. 2

   Step 2: Each story gets a small share button with WhatsApp, Messages, LinkedIn and Email, plus Messenger on phones.

3. 3

   Step 3: A story with a gift link is sent with the gift link.
